CAN A TOOTH BE SAVED?

A tooth is precious to us, just like any part of our body. Imagine, a finger of yours that is having problem, would you want to chop it off and replace with an artificial finger? Or would you want to save your natural finger?

Likewise, a tooth is as truly precious because it helps us to chew food, to be able to speak and pronounce clearly, and maintain our bone density. Those who without teeth actually looks a lot older compared to those of the same age who still have their teeth.

So, yes, a dead tooth or infected tooth can be saved with a dental procedure known as root canal treatment. Many people chose to pull out their teeth because it is easy to pull out. But many soon regretted because artificial teeth are not the same as original teeth, and they got upset with their dentists.

Dr Su strictly adheres to Hippocratic Oath, that is to do no harm on patients. Don't you think pulling out a tooth that can be saved, is doing harm to patient? Sadly, there are many out there who advise patients to pull their teeth and replace with implants. Why would you want to pull out your natural implants and replace with artificial implants?

There are only 3 circumstances where a tooth cannot be saved:
1. very loose/shaky tooth

2. vertically fractured tooth

3. tooth that is not restorable

So, if you are unsure when a dentist told you that your tooth needs to be pulled out, there is no harm to seek for second opinion.
